About the Role
CSC Screeding Limited is looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 HIAB Driver & Yard Operative to join our dynamic team. This is a varied role which combines professional driving (Class 1 vehicle with HIAB), trailing plant and equipment and yard duties, supporting our operations team to ensure materials, equipment and plant are delivered safely to our screeding teams. Flexible working hours will be required with some early mornings starting times may be required around 6.00am, and there may be occasions where work continues past 5.00pm, this is depending on project needs.
This is an opportunity to play a key role, supporting the team and representing our business to provide outstanding service to our customers.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a busy, outdoor working environment, as well as being on the road.
Responsibilities
· Loading and unloading building materials from the delivery vehicle
· Delivering building materials, plant, tools and equipment to various construction sites in a timely and safe manner
· Completing delivery paperwork and obtaining signatures where necessary
· Undertaking the daily operations of the Yard and warehouse
· Coordinating the movement, storage, and logistics of building materials within the yard
· Taking and managing materials and stock in Yard / Preparing materials for Screeders
Skills
· Excellent organisational skills
· Experience and ability to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols
· Experience operating plant/forklifts would be an advantage
· Maintenance – experience in basic mechanical maintenance would be an advantage
· Maintaining records for Health and safety - pre-use daily checks
· Physical ability to manage heavy lifting safely
· Good level of written and verbal English
Qualifications: Driving Experience
Clean manual driving licence with Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence (4 years preferred)
Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Experience with HIAB (lorry-mounted crane)
Experience operating Forklift and/or Telehandler
Ideal Candidate
• A safe, experienced and responsible driver with strong attention to detail
• Capable of working outdoors and within a Yard and construction environment
• Comfortable with both driving and physical yard-based duties
• Proactive, with a hands-on approach who works well independently and as part of a team
• Good communicator with a cheerful, positive outlook
