We are seeking a skilled mechanic/vehicle technician to join our team. Formal qualifications are NOT required if knowledge and skill levels can be demonstrated from work history and experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and repairs of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work efficiently with various hand and power tools.
Duties
• Perform repairs, maintenance and servicing of vehicles in accordance with current regulations and standards.
• Identify any defects or issues that may affect the safety or performance of the vehicle.
• Complete necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate findings, providing clear explanations of any required repairs or maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
• Assist with heavy lifting and moving of vehicles as necessary.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation and best practices related to vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
• Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections.
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all tests are conducted thoroughly.
• Be able to communicate and interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
