We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work efficiently with various hand and power tools.
Duties
• Perform MOT tests (class 4) on a variety of vehicles in accordance with current regulations and standards.
• Identify any defects or issues that may affect the safety or performance of the vehicle.
• Complete necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate findings, providing clear explanations of any required repairs or maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
• Assist with heavy lifting and moving of vehicles as necessary during inspections.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation and best practices related to vehicle testing.
Requirements
• Qualified MOT Tester (VOSA/DVSA approved).
• Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections.
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all tests are conducted thoroughly.
• Be able to communicate and interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid MOT Tester licence is essential for this position.
