Maintenance Assistant
£12.50p/h + DOE, between Harrogate & Knaresborough, 3 days per week, Enhanced DBS required, immediate start available
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant for this local long-standing business. You will work across two sites in Harrogate & Knaresborough, alongside the maintenance and care taking team, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. You will undertake care taking duties and repairs, and planned and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring the general upkeep of the sites and deal with day-to-day issues as they arise. This is a temporary role to cover a staff absence of likely 2 months.
The role:
- Undertaking planned buildings and ground maintenance
- Undertaking security checks & fire checks
- To undertake any care taking services required
- To help set up furniture, rooms and equipment for meetings and events
- Undertake minor repairs, decoration and general upkeep
- Installation of fixtures and fittings, clearing of drains, gullies, guttering
- Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with strict health and safety guidelines
- Carrying out routine checks and maintaining appropriate records, training will be provided
You will:
- Hold an Enhanced DBS
- Be able to confidently undertake basic plumbing, joinery, decoration, and general maintenance and repairs
- Ideally have worked in a building maintenance, handy person or caretaker capacity previously although any experience would be considered
- Be well presented and personable
- Be organised and able to work to set daily job targets
- Have a full clean driving licence
The successful candidate will be required to work 8am-4pm, 3 days per week, Monday & Friday & 1 other day to suit.
