Key Responsibilities of the Senior Fire Safety Engineer:
• Lead and support fire safety design and risk management for a wide range of building types
• Build strong relationships with new and existing clients
• Mentor and support junior engineers
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, and fire risk assessments
• Create clear, comprehensive reports, presentations, and fire strategy documentation
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and authorities to deliver effective solutions
• Contribute ideas and insight to help grow and develop the business
What You’ll Bring:
• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Fire Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years’ experience in fire safety engineering
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (IFE or IFSM member preferred)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and fire engineering software (e.g. CFD modelling, thermal analysis)
• Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and international codes
• Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical details for varied audiences
• A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and high standards
• A valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
• Willingness to travel in the UK and abroad when required
Relevant Experience:
Ideal for those with experience in roles such as; Fire Safety Consultant, Senior Fire Protection Engineer, Fire Engineering Manager, Fire Risk Specialist, or similar.
