Summary

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Leicester (office based)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team at their Leicester Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career in a professional and fast-paced construction environment.

You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, gaining hands-on experience across a range of projects, from pre-construction through to final accounts. You'll also benefit from mentoring, structured training, and the opportunity to work towards professional accreditation through the APC after an initial settling-in period.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in preparing subcontract package documents to issue for tender, upon return assist in the package analysis accordingly.

- Support in measurement and valuation of works, including attending site visits.

- Assist in reviewing subcontractor applications and managing payment processes.

- Monitor variations and support with accurate cost tracking.

- Support in preparing interim and final account statements.

- Work closely with the project team to ensure commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

- Assist in compiling and reviewing subcontractor packages and documentation.

- Maintain clear records and assist in reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

What They're Looking For

- A degree in BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying or BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management.

- Strong numeracy and analytical skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong organisational and time management abilities

- A team player with a proactive and professional approach

- Willingness to learn and develop through formal and on-the-job training
