Part-time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I’m a 56 year old man living in Barry. I’m an outgoing person who enjoys going out for meals and for walks. Although I have no formal diagnosis of a learning disability or autism I do have the relevant traits.
I am an independent and able person; I can do all my own personal care, meal preparation and access the community as long as it’s local and I know where I’m going. I am somewhat of a loner and do lack some confidence.
I enjoy watching the soaps on tv, listening to the radio and I enjoy all types of music.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide me with social opportunities outside of my family circle. Encouraging my confidence levels.
HOURS OF WORK
6 hours per week, days and times to be flexible
40p per mile
RATES OF PAY
£15.00 per hour
Mileage of 40p per mile
TASKS INVOLVED
Community based activities, for example bowling
Ensuring I am safe at all times
Joining me for an outing, such as wondering around the shops followed by a meal/or coffee
Going to cafes and restaurants
Giving motivation when needed to participate in an activity
Going for walks in the local area when the weather is appropriate
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A friendly and happy-go-lucky person
You must understand the job is about taking me to/participating in activities of my choice
Someone who enjoys walking
Patient and understanding
Someone who can give motivation/encourage me to go out
A sensible and mature person who can communicate well
Can keep time, as it’s really important to me
Car driver with access to car
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
