Are you a strategic leader with a passion for transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people? Join NH Care as our new Service Manager, where you expertise will drive meaningful change across our residential care homes and specialist education provision.
NH Care provides high-quality residential care and education for children and young people through our five residential care homes and New Horizon Academy – an independent school for 11–16-year-olds with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We pride ourselves on delivering safe, trauma-informed, and nurturing environments where every child can thrive.
As a key member of our senior leadership team, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations across our Homes and school. You’ll lead on service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring excellent care and education provision. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership, guiding Home Managers and School Leaders to uphold NH Care’s values while fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and personal growth.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and contributing to the operational management of our homes and school
• Ensuring full compliance with safeguarding and other key regulatory frameworks
• Acting as an OfSTED Registered Responsible Individual and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
• Managing budgets, monitoring KPIs and delivering cost-effective outcomes
• Mentoring, coaching, supervising and developing Home Managers and School Leaders
• Overseeing safe, legally compliant facilities across the organisation
• Embed child-centred approached across services
• Foster open communication, inclusion and innovation at every level
To be successful in this role you will:
• Be educated to degree level, or equivalent, preferably with a relevant Management Qualification, e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare
• Have strong leadership experience in residential childcare and/or education settings
• Have a strong track record of OfSTED compliance, team management and strategic planning
• Possess budget management and data analysis skills
• Be familiar with safeguarding frameworks, HR Practices, health and Safety and Performance Monitoring
• Be emotionally resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure
• Be an empathetic leader with a collaborative, hands-on approach
• Be fully committed to safeguarding, diversity and driving high standards
• Be an adaptable team player with excellent communication and organisation skills
• Hold a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
