The pharmacy department is looking for a dependable, enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy assistant to join our in-house Pharmacy Distribution and Medical Gas Team.

The individuals will help us deliver a high quality and efficient patient focused service.

The ideal candidate will have good levels of stamina, be physically fit with good attention to detail and possess good communication skills, be flexible, committed and works well within a team .

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the extended hour’s service working five 8 hour shifts between 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday and will join the rota for Medical Gas on-call duties (24 hours a day/ 7 days a week - normally no more than 1 week on-call every 1-2 months) once trained.

You will be a key member of staff in helping us develop the pharmacy service which continues to develop in line with the NHS plan for pharmacy. As part of the Pharmacy Distribution Team you will help us deliver Medical Gases and Pharmaceutical products to wards and departments across the Oxford Road Campus.

There is a positive attitude towards development of staff within the department and you will be encouraged to participate in our in-house training programs in order that you can develop your skills and apply them in the most appropriate way towards improving patient care.

This post is physically demanding, lots of walking, standing, lifting and lowering of boxes and bags and practical experience and knowledge of manual handling is important though local training will be provided.

Training will be provided in all aspects of the post and personal development will be encouraged.
