Location Neston, Corsham
Hours 5 hours per week (Flexible days and times but mornings preferred spread over 2 days if possible)
Payrate £14.20 per hour
Holiday 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time)
Driving Licence Yes - preferred
DBS Check Yes - will be funded by the employer
A bit about me:
I am a man in my 80’s now enjoying retirement from a busy work schedule in the motor trade. I live with my wife in Neston nr Corsham. I love to chat and talk about my past and enjoy keeping active and busy – I’m not one for sitting down doing nothing! I particularly enjoy walking, gardening and, having been an avid car rally participant and enthusiast in my younger days, I also enjoy watching motor racing and Formula 1 on the TV.
About the role:
Due to my Alzheimer diagnosis and poor short-term memory. I am looking for someone who would be willing to keep me company for a few hours twice a week while my wife is out. Someone who might share some of my interests who I could chat with, go for a walk and a coffee or just enjoy each other’s company.
The kind of person I am looking for:
Friendly and approachable, responsible, reliable and trustworthy. Good communication and social skills. To respect confidentiality and privacy and be sensitive to my needs. Be able to accept responsibility. Be willing to learn and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
