Justteachers is seeking a caring and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well resourced and inclusive special school in the Harrogate area on a long-term basis. This full-time role is due to start in September, with shortlisting currently taking place.

The school supports pupils aged 2–19 with a range of complex learning needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and physical disabilities. It is recognised for its nurturing approach, strong multi-disciplinary teamwork, and commitment to promoting independence and communication for every learner.

The role:
• Provide classroom support for pupils with a range of complex SEND, including personal care and mobility assistance
• Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual education and care plans
• Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment that enables pupils to thrive

The ideal candidate:
• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs or within a SEND setting
• Relevant qualifications in health and social care, education, or childcare (desirable)
• A patient, empathetic approach with strong communication skills
• Two education or school-based references
