About PNDC
PNDC is one of the University of Strathclyde’s industry-facing innovation centres, focusing on test and validation to accelerate the development of next-generation power networks, decarbonised heat, and decarbonised transport solutions. It provides a real-world environment for de-risking and demonstrating innovations in a range of areas including grid modernisation, digital substations, power electronics, powertrains and whole energy system integration to drive the Net Zero transition.
At PNDC, we bridge the gap between concept and deployment, working alongside network operators, technology providers, and policymakers to accelerate innovation. With the launch of the Advanced Net Zero Innovation Centre (ANZIC) in 2025, we are expanding our capabilities to test, integrate, and de-risk novel high power net-zero solutions in transport, heat & whole energy systems as well as power electronics, electric machines and drives.

At PNDC, we’re not just a team, we’re a powerhouse of innovation, flexibility, and collaboration. Colleagues lift each other up, challenge ideas, and come together to accelerate technologies that are reshaping the energy landscape.

We thrive on impact. Whether it’s showcasing something new, boosting energy resilience, or accelerating the transition to a greener planet, we take pride in seeing the technologies we’ve developed in action.
