£16.10 per hour PAYE



The role:

To lead on information provision and produce a range of management information reports from a range of information systems to provide managers with accurate, relevant and timely information regarding all aspects of the work of the Council.



Key accountabilities:

Complete statutory returns on behalf of the Council as requested by Government bodies, complying with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
Identify opportunities for reducing and rationalising the quantity of data, the targets and returns and to carry out the role at all times with a view to minimising the time taken.
Provide management information for national and local performance indicators and targets, including financial spreadsheets.
Advise departments on the understanding of effective data collection and cleansing.
Work with client departments to develop a process of information reporting and analysis that meets statutory and service requirements.
Lead on a programme of information improvements and data quality across the Council to inform service planning and change projects.
Link to neighbouring authorities and other agencies for statistical comparisons and benchmarking purposes.



Key criteria:

Experience of developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing strategies and policies
Experience of giving advice and guidance, instructing and checking the work of others
Approximately 3 years’ experience of undertaking a management information role
Experience of working with other agencies/organisations to benchmark and compare data
Knowledge and understanding of IT systems to produce management information reports
Familiarity with Data Protection Act 1998 and understanding of Freedom of Information Act 2000
Experience of interpreting legislation, policy or procedures to give recommendations and advice
Experience and familiarity with MS Office products for Data Handling (Access, Excel)
