What skills and experience we're looking for

• We are wishing to recruit a reliable and flexible School Minibus Driver. The role involves transporting pupils to and from school as well as pupils and staff to educational visits or sporting fixtures.

You will be required to drive one of the school’s eight 17-seater minibuses or our 7-seater car. You should possess a clean driving licence, and be willing to undertake any necessary training, dependant on the types of vehicles your licence permits you to drive. You do not need a D1 licence as our vehicles are ‘Minibus Lite’. The Trust will fund any training costs.

What you will bring;

• Full, clean driving licence
• You must have D1 category on your driving licence and be over 25 for insurance purpose
• Previous experience of driving minibuses desirable. You will need to attend and pass a Minibus driver assessment course
• Experience of working with children in a paid or voluntary capacity is advantageous

• Excellent driving skills
• A willingness to understand vehicle mechanics to ensure the minibuses are kept in good order and issues are escalated

• Duties and responsibilities


• Transport children to and from school in the morning and afternoons following the agreed timetables
• Transport children and staff for trips and activities
• Always maintain a clean and mechanically sound minibus. Performing vehicle checks of the minibus before and after each use.
• Obey all traffic laws
• Check pupil registers prior to departure. Where discrepancies are identified, work with the School reception teams to verify and resolve
• Ensure safety of all students, setting clear expectations around behaviour whilst travelling on the bus. Disciplining and addressing behavioural issues as necessary and escalating to the Senior Leadership Team, as necessary
• Ensure pupils are released in a safe way to their parents or carers as appropriate
• Refuelling the vehicle if necessary
