An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech and Language Practitioner/Assistant to work within Waltham Forest College, supporting our Foundation Learning SEND learners. You will be responsible for providing support to students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) by implementing targeted interventions and working collaboratively with the Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) team to enhance access to learning and improve communication skills. The post holder will deliver a variety of support services, provide training to staff, and contribute to inclusive practice across the College. Other general responsibilities will also include: Creating resources, providing cover for colleagues, supporting enrolment and open events, carrying out administrative tasks, contributing to and participating in Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Annual Reviews.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and implementing speech and language support strategies for young people with additional communication needs, or a willingness to work towards developing these skills.
