Summary
Female Support Worker - Papworth Trust are looking for a Female Support Worker to join our Supported Living Service Team, which provides support to 6 customers with learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism. This a part-time permanent role based in Haverhill, Suffolk.
Due to the needs of our customers, this is a female only role and part of a genuine occupational requirement.

About the role:
As a Female Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in helping our customers achieve their aspirations and enhance their quality of life. You will assist individuals in their daily living skills, personal care, and accessing various educational and recreational activities. Your support will not only facilitate their independence but also support their integration and inclusion within the community. Working hours for this role are 20 hours variable over 7 days, with a requirement for sleep ins
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate personal care, including hygiene, mobility, medication support, and daily living tasks, while upholding each customer's dignity and independence.
- Support customers in building life skills such as meal preparation, shopping, managing health, paperwork, and household responsibilities.
- Facilitate access to the community and meaningful activities, promoting social inclusion, personal goals, and enjoyment of hobbies.
- Work collaboratively with customers, families, and professionals to deliver personalised support plans, ensuring accurate documentation and GDPR compliance.
- Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety standards, while pursuing ongoing professional development and adhering to all policies.
About you:
As a Female Support Worker, you will be dynamic, compassionate and committed to supporting people with disabilities. You should possess a genuine passion for empowering others, along with a strong understanding of disability issues and the social model of disability. Your ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and demonstrate flexibility will be essential in this role.
