HGV Shunter Driver
Location: Totton, Southampton
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Sunday to Thursday, 16:30–01:00)
Salary: £36,000 – £39,000 per annum
Contract: Temp-Perm

TLP are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK provider of bonded warehousing and specialist logistics services tailored to the travel retail sector. Serving airports, airlines, cruise lines, ferry operators, and global brand owners, our client is trusted to handle complex requirements in storage, stock management, consolidation, and distribution across the UK, Europe, and beyond.
They are now looking for a dedicated and safety-conscious Shunter Driver to join their team at their site in Totton, Southampton.
The Role – Shunter Driver
As a Shunter Driver, your responsibilities will include:
Moving vehicles onsite for loading and unloading
Hitching/unhitching trailers, securing loads, and managing curtain-sided trailers
Reversing vehicles onto ramps within a compact yard space
Carrying out vehicle and trailer checks, reporting any issues
Supporting loading activities and general yard duties (forklift training provided)
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone reliable, professional, and team-oriented, with the following:
Full UK driving licence with HGV C+E (Class 1) entitlement
Valid CPC and digital tachograph card
Experience with curtain-sided trailers
Knowledge of load safety and manual handling best practices
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
Physically fit and willing to complete a criminal record check
No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
