Collar & Coat is a newly established boutique dog styling company offering luxury grooming experiences and high-end apparel.
We’re on the lookout for a passionate, qualified Dog Groomer to join our growing team in Ringwood. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a flair for grooming and a deep love for dogs, ready to play a key role in launching and shaping a new, luxury salon brand.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate and dedicated Pet Groomer with a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services.
As our Key Groomer and Salon Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that enhance their appearance and comfort.
This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to handle animals safely and efficiently as well as helping our team foster a sense of community in the local area.
This role is expected to develop as our client base grows so will offer excellent career progression within the industry. Initially you'll work closely with the salon owners and be a part of founding a unique brand, we anticipate the successful candidate will eventually lead a grooming team and manage multiple locations, to ensure every dog enjoys an exceptional experience and our service standards are upheld company wide.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality grooming services for a variety of breeds including bathing, clipping, brushing, and nail trimming for various breeds of dogs. Provide high-quality grooming services for a variety of breeds
Assess the condition of each pet's coat and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention and handle animals safely, using appropriate techniques for restraint and care during grooming sessions.
Be capable of lifting/assisting in lifting larger pets as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, pet care and a safe grooming environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly sanitised after each use.
Deliver excellent customer service to clients and their dogs and communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs, preferences, and any concerns observed during the consultation and grooming process.
Building rapport with clients and addressing their questions or concerns promptly.
Manage day-to-day salon operations, including opening and closing
Support retail sales and provide product recommendations
Train and mentor junior groomers as the team grows and take on greater responsibility as the business expands into multiple locations
Requirements
Level 3 City & Guilds Dog Grooming qualification (or equivalent) additional training and continued professional development will be encouraged and highly supported for all staff at Collar & Coat
Strong communication, organisation, and customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners at all times.
Capability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds of dogs or other animals.
Knowledge of basic veterinary care is advantageous but not mandatory; but a willingness to learn is essential.
A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is crucial for success in this role.
Confidence working independently and managing salon operations
A calm, patient and compassionate approach to handling dogs of all temperaments
