Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced critical care nurse to support the clinical educators, with 1 part-time role available at each Intensive Care Unit (DPOW & SGH). This new role will involve working clinically alongside staff members, delivering both bedside and classroom based training sessions & simulation exercises. The successful candidate will not only assist in the sign off of National Critical Care Step Competencies but support HDU and ITU staff in training relevant to the critical care equipment and the anticipated new conjoined critical care unit, which is due to open in Grimsby, early 2026. Candidates should be a confident critical care nurse with recent or current experience and be willing to deliver training sessions in addition to possessing clinical ability in this area.
Work along side staff to support learning in a clinical environment
Deliver training sessions on base site and cross-site for local Induction of new critical care staff
Sign off National Critical Care Step Competencies
Work between HDU/ITU (for the DPOW position)
Support Clinical Educator
Assist with organisation of critical care study days / conferences and deliver training if required
Assist with Simulation exercises in both the clinical environment and the simulation suite
Data collection for local audits and benchmarking
Assist with local Quality Improvement projects
This is a really exciting opportunity to join our established critical care teams to support the clinical educators. There are 2 part time roles, 1 at each site, Grimsby ITU/HDU and Scunthorpe ICU.
