Crynodeb
1. Maintain high standards of nursing care and promote an environment suitable for the care of children, ensuring that all planned carefully reflects latest research developments. 2. Be a member of the ADHD multidisciplinary team, progressing to a Neurodevelopmental multidisciplinary team. Working collaboratively with Consultant Psychiatrists, non-medical prescribers and other health professionals. 3. Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive pharmaceutical knowledge, with a particular focus on ADHD medications, including their mechanisms of action, side effects, interactions, and titration protocols. Critically appraise current clinical guidelines, emerging research, and prescribing practices, and apply this information effectively to ensure safe, evidence-based, and person-centred care. 4. Provide direct nursing care and support, using developing clinical knowledge and skills to contribute to the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of children and young people with ADHD, in line with best practice and under the guidance of senior clinicians. 5. To coordinate the assessment of patients/service users with complex needs including individuals with unconfirmed diagnosis. 6. Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans for children and young people with ADHD, using evidence-based guidance and contributing to best practice under the supervision of senior clinicians. 7. To ensure patient/service user involvement in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of care, respecting their beliefs and dignity. 8. To utilise data and information from a range of sources to identify patients/service users conditions to guide decision making. 9. To undertake the role of health promoter and educator for patients/service users and their support networks. 10. To ensure that professional standards are upheld by the staff members working within the postholders sphere of responsibility. 11. Maintain high professional standards in own practice and contribute to a positive team culture by supporting colleagues and adhering to local policies and procedures. 12. To be accountable for ensuring that safeguards are in place for patients/service users and escalate any safety, safeguarding or risk concerns following the appropriate processes. 13. Participation in a Single Point of Access (SPOA) for integrated neurodevelopmental disorder referrals and triage of such. 14. Involvement in joint neurodevelopmental (typically ADHD+ASD) assessment. 15. Work across HSC sites, as needed and in accordance with planned service developments. 16. Undertake any other duties as appropriate to the grade as delegated by the ADHD team lead and the operational manager.
