Crynodeb
To perform Venepuncture and Veneole (capillary sampling) blood collection procedures (the piercing/puncturing of veins or the slicing of veneoles, which are both invasive, clinical procedures). To extract blood samples from patients/donors in a manner that makes the blood sample suitable/fit for analytical, therapeutic or diagnostic testing and purpose. Working on hospital wards, clinics, community based clinics within other organisations & NHS Trusts and also in the patients domicile. To receive and assist in the processing of clinical diagnostic specimens for biological testing To perform certain biological analyses under supervision. Specified in appendix C To enter patient demographic details onto the laboratory information system To communicate sensitive information to colleagues and other healthcare staff
