Contract: Bank Salary: £12.21 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 0

Struan Lodge is a warm and welcoming care home offering Nursing, Dementia, and Palliative care for up to 30 residents. We are looking for a friendly, reliable Kitchen Assistant to join us on a bank basis — perfect for those who want flexible shifts while making a real difference in a home-from-home setting.

This is not just a behind-the-scenes role — as Kitchen Assistant, you’ll be a valued part of the team helping to bring smiles to our residents’ faces. From preparing meals to keeping the kitchen sparkling clean, you’ll support the smooth running of the heart of the home. You’ll unpack deliveries, help with simple food prep, keep everything tidy and safe, and be a big part of making mealtimes enjoyable. Every shift is different, and your work will be essential in helping residents feel comfortable, well cared for, and well fed. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, we will provide all the training you need to succeed.

What We Offer:

  • £12.21 per hour
  • Flexible bank shifts to suit your availability
  • Paid PVG
  • Pension scheme
  • Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata)
  • Ongoing training and development to support your growth

What We’re Looking For:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Great team spirit and communication skills
  • An interest in food preparation and kitchen work
  • Previous experience helpful but not required – full training provided
