Job Title: Vehicle Technician (Electric Vehicle Specialist)

Location: Carlisle
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time (40 hours per week, flexible working available)

Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician with a specialism in Electric Vehicles (EVs) to support the maintenance and preparation of a new fleet of electric vehicles in Carlisle. This position plays a vital role in the delivery of sustainable transport services as part of the UK’s transition to cleaner energy and green mobility solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with the appropriate Level 4 EV qualification to apply their skills within a forward-thinking and safety-focused environment. The successful candidate will work on industry-leading EV technology and contribute to the preparation and servicing of both new and approved used vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine servicing, diagnostics, and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles.

Accurately complete service and repair documentation, including job cards and parts usage.

Follow manufacturer guidelines and health & safety standards when working on high-voltage EV systems.

Use technical data to interpret and resolve faults and issues.

Perform safety inspections and health checks on vehicles.

Remove and install vehicle components in accordance with technical specifications.

Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the workshop.

Support vehicle preparation prior to customer delivery.

Essential Criteria:
Level 4 Electric Vehicle (EV) qualification.

Proven experience in a vehicle technician or mechanical repair role.

Understanding of health and safety practices, particularly when working with EVs.

Competence in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.

Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

A proactive approach to continuous learning and development.

Desirable Criteria:
Additional manufacturer training or qualifications.

Experience working in high-volume workshop environments.

Full UK driving licence.

Working Arrangements:
Standard 40-hour working week.
