Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CMM Inspector to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing team based in Redditch. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting high-precision components using a range of tools and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform dimensional inspection of aerospace components using CMM equipment (PC-DMIS or similar software).
• Interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and quality standards.
• Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
• Generate and complete inspection reports and documentation.
• Identify and report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis where required.
• Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained correctly.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain high standards of output.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a similar role within the aerospace or precision engineering sector.
• Strong understanding of CMM inspection and use of inspection tools (e.g. micrometers, verniers, height gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards is desirable.
• Good IT skills and experience with inspection software (PC-DMIS preferred).
• High attention to detail, proactive attitude, and strong communication skills.
