About the role: Facilities & Maintenance OfficerActivate Learning is looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Officer to join our team at Oxford College. This full-time, permanent role ensures the campus remains safe, clean, and secure to support teaching and learning.The Facilities & Maintenance Officer will carry out a variety of tasks, including unlocking and securing buildings, general maintenance (repairs, painting, decorating), setting up events, moving furniture, and supporting campus activities. You’ll also monitor site security, respond to helpdesk requests, maintain external areas, and manage waste and recycling.Key Facilities & Maintenance Officer responsibilities include:Daily maintenance and estates supportHealth & safety and compliance checksGrounds upkeep and weather-related clearingOn-call duties every fourth weekOccasional overtime and weekend workCross-campus support as neededThis is a varied and hands-on role ideal for someone proactive and reliable, with a flexible approach to facilities work.What do you need to be a successful Facilities & Maintenance Officer at Activate Learning?The ideal Facilities & Maintenance Officer candidate will be a proactive, solutions-focused individual with a strong team ethic and a customer-first approach to facilities support. You will be capable of performing routine maintenance, ensuring health and safety compliance, and responding swiftly to on-site issues.
