About the Role:
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity based in Leeds for a full-time Childcare Study Programme Tutor to join our expanding team. As we continue to grow our Childcare provision, we are seeking a passionate and motivated professional to help shape the learning journey of our students and support them in building rewarding futures in the childcare sector.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a rich and engaging curriculum to groups of learners, supporting them from their initial interview and assessment right through to the successful completion of their qualifications. You’ll teach across a range of levels, from Entry to at least Level 2, tailoring your approach to meet the needs and ambitions of each learner.
Your work will involve delivering accredited qualifications alongside English and maths (up to GCSE level), while embedding practical skills, employability, and personal development into your teaching. With a focus on high-quality, inclusive education, your delivery will align with the standards set out in the Common Inspection Framework, ensuring that all learners have access to outstanding learning experiences.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team, and to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. If this sounds like the right fit for you, we invite you to click ‘apply now’ and take the next step in your career.
Safeguarding responsibilities: This role will involve daily contact with learners, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. All staff have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, and/or vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. The Charity’s Safeguarding Policy is available from Central YMCA website.
Any offer of employment will be subject to successfully completing pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure, teacher prohibition check, the receipt of satisfactory references, overseas check (if applicable), relevant original ID documentation and examination certificates.
Regulated activity: This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Charity is therefore permitted to ask shortlisted applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) to assess their suitability to work with children. Should you be shortlisted, you will be required to complete a disclosure form prior to interview.
Please note: Candidates with overseas experience exceeding three months within the past ten years will be required to provide criminal background checks or certificates of good conduct from the relevant jurisdictions, in English or with certified translations.
