Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research & Development Department to join us as a Senior Research Therapeutic Radiographer/Nurse.

You will be responsible for delivering and clinically managing your own portfolio of academic and commercial research studies, providing expert research support to investigators, within the specialty of Oncology research, specifically, Radiography, although it is an expectation to work across all research specialities as well as provide cover for colleagues as and when required. This post will enable you to gain clinical knowledge and skills around a variety of conditions through working closely with the consultants and specialist nurses and multi-disciplinary teams.

Work with the Research Team to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the UK Clinical Trials Regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are protected.

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking, co-ordinating and driving a team in the recruitment of patients to clinical trials, working closely with the Radiotherapy Service to forge links and provide a thorough, high quality and efficient service encompassing all aspects of the radiotherapy treatment delivery and patient care.

The post holder will work with the team lead to develop and grow the
research portfolio across their designated speciality area. The post will involve, managing and coordinating, clinical trials collaboratively with the research & multidisciplinary teams. You will be accountable for the assessment, planning, organisation and on-going care of research participants, whilst maximising compliance with study/trial protocol.

As a specialist role the post holder will provide, expert direction, support, supervision and management of staff. They will assist with the training of staff to ensure they conform to protocol and practice guidelines.

NMC or HPC registration is an essential requirement for the post alongside post registration experience working within the NHS. Experience of working in research or radiotherapy would be an advantage as well as knowledge of research regulations relating to the conduct of clinical trials.
