Are you reliable, adaptable, and passionate about keeping people and property safe? We're looking for a committed Relief Security Officer to join our team, covering key government sites across Liverpool and the surrounding area.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a flexible schedule who thrives in varied environments. You'll step in to cover planned and unplanned absences — including holidays, sickness, and short-notice requirements — making you an essential part of our frontline defence.
About the RoleAs a Relief Security Officer, your core mission is to protect people, property, and sensitive assets by delivering high-quality security services in accordance with site-specific Assignment Instructions (AIs). You'll play a crucial role in maintaining site safety, responding to incidents, and ensuring all security operations run smoothly.
You'll need to be confident working independently and across a variety of shift patterns including days, nights, and weekends.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Excellence
-Follow all Assignment Instructions (AI's) and maintain familiarity with updates and changes.
-Maintain a strong presence on-site to deter threats and manage incidents efficiently.
-Collaborate with on-site teams to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
-Adhere to legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations — including wearing a valid front-line SIA license and, where required, a CCTV PSS License.
Training & Development
-Complete all required competency and site-specific training.
-Undertake additional training as directed to support ongoing development and compliance.
-Stay up to date with security technologies and industry best practices.
Safety & Incident Response
-Remain alert to potential threats, hazards, or suspicious activity and act quickly and appropriately.
-Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate notebooks.
-Follow all Health & Safety protocols and support the safe, secure operation of the site.
-Make check calls and emergency notifications in line with procedure.
What We're Looking For
-Valid SIA License (Security Guarding or Door Supervision)
-Must have Full UK Driver Licence and access to your own vehicle
-SC Clearance - desirable (or ability to undergo vetting)
-Previous security experience (ideally in a government or high-security environment)
-Strong communication and observational skills
-Calm under pressure and professional in challenging situations
-A flexible and dependable work ethic
