About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring English Teacher to join a high-performing secondary school in Leeds. The role begins in September 2025 and is full-time, delivering English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities for Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.

Essential Requirements
  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the English National Curriculum
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3-KS4
  • Support exam preparation, including GCSE revision and interventions
  • Differentiate materials to suit diverse learning needs
  • Use data effectively to track progress and plan interventions
  • Provide detailed feedback to students in line with school policy
  • Participate in departmental meetings and CPD
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Promote literacy across the curriculum
  • Set and monitor homework assignments
  • Keep records of attendance and assessment
  • Participate in open evenings and parent events
