About the Role
We’re currently recruiting for a Chef Manager to lead the catering team at a prestigious independent day school located in Central London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and passionate chef with strong leadership capabilities and a background in delivering outstanding catering services within education or similar environments.
You’ll be responsible for managing a high-performing team and ensuring the delivery of fresh, nutritious, and exciting meals for pupils, staff, and guests. The role also includes overseeing hospitality and event catering, with a focus on plant-based innovation, allergy awareness, and inclusive menu development.

Job Description
Lead and manage the daily operations of the school kitchen and catering team
Plan, prepare, and oversee the delivery of nutritious, seasonal menus that meet dietary and allergen requirements
Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to meet budget targets
Support and develop kitchen staff through training, coaching, and performance management
Coordinate hospitality for school events and functions, maintaining high standards of presentation and service
Foster an inclusive and positive team environment that promotes wellbeing and professional growth
Qualifications
Proven experience in a Chef Manager or similar leadership role
A passion for seasonal, sustainable cooking and food innovation
Strong understanding of plant-based and allergen-aware catering
Excellent people management and communication skills
High standards for food presentation, safety, and compliance
