University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a full time Locum Consultant in Uropathology (10PA) with a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education/training.
Uropathology is a recognised specialist service based within the Cellular Pathology Department
The post holder will be expected to have experience in dealing with complex urological oncology resection specimens, urological biopsies and urological frozen sections.
The UCLH Uro-Andrology service is the specialist centre for penile cancers for the North Central London Cancer Network. Reviews of urological specimens from extra-network locations also form part of the caseload.
Consultants also need to be available for dealing with queries in their specialist field from a wide variety of clinical and other staff.
CV required for application
As a Locum Consultant in Uropathology at UCLH you will join a team of Consultant colleagues to report a range of urological specimens including bladder and prostate biopsies, TURP, TURBT, cystectomies, prostatectomies and orchidectomies. As UCLH is the Tertiary Specialist Centre for Penile Cancer in North London, there will also be a variety of penile specimens ranging from biopsies to radical excisions. Frozen section experience would be an advantage as well as previous expertise with complex Uropathology specimens and interest in teaching and research. There is no on-call commitment and postmortems are not required.
