Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
Location: Syston, LE7
Salary: £37,000 to £42,000
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
Social Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a new children’s residential home in Syston, LE7, specialising in care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong background in residential childcare who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager and leading a dedicated team to provide high-quality, child-focused care.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the daily management of the home and ensure compliance with Ofsted and regulatory standards
• Support and supervise staff, promoting professional development and high-quality practice
• Help develop individual care plans and ensure they are implemented effectively
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people
• Lead by example, modelling therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
• Contribute to audits, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
Essential Requirements
• Previous experience working as a Senior in a children’s residential home
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted regulations
• Confident leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team
• A resilient, compassionate, and hands-on approach to supporting young people
• Clear enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK
