Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with Autism?
TeacherActive is working with a leading specialist SEN school in South Liverpool to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to start in September.

The school is an outstanding specialist setting that provides education for students aged 3–19 with Autism and associated complex needs. The school offers a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment where pupils are supported through a highly personalised curriculum. The dedicated team promotes positive relationships, emotional well-being, and independence.

  As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with Autism in 1:1 or small group settings

    
    

  • Work alongside teachers and specialists to deliver tailored learning plans

    
    

  • Promote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation

    
    

  • Use communication strategies such as PECs, Makaton, or visual aids (desirable)

    
    

  • Be a consistent, calm, and reassuring presence in the classroom

    
    Requirements

    • Experience working with Autism is essential

      
      

    • Background in education, care, or support roles

      
      

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

      
      

    • Positive, patient, and proactive approach

      
      

    • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
