An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Special School Nursing Service for a Band 7 Team Leader to manage the nursing team at Sherwood Park School.
To provide leadership and line management to a team of Special Needs School Nurses and Health Care Assistants based within Sherwood Park School educational setting.
The Team Leader will be the main point of contact for the nursing team based within the special school and will take responsibility for the actions of the team, this could include, but is not limited to, leading in any emergency situations and safeguarding incidents.
The Team Leader will also be responsible for leading the children’s continence service. This will include carrying out assessments, giving advice around children’s continence needs and issuing products to those children who meet the criteria ensuring children’s needs are met whilst keeping within a specified budget.
The post holder will work collaboratively with other professionals involved in the care of children including Children’s Therapists, Educational Staff, School Nursing and Social Services to support and empower children, young people and their families, improve health andgive every child the opportunity to develop their full potential.

· Acts as direct line manager for a team of School Nurses and Health Care Assistants based within Sherwood Park School.
· Acts as the lead clinician for the Children’s Continence Service for children registered with a London Borough of Sutton GP.
· Develops, promotes and implements integrated working (internal and external) whenever this would improve service delivery options or outcomes for individual children, young people and their families.
· Ensures that all staff within the team work to Sutton Health and Care and Epsom and St Helier Hospitals policies, procedures, standard operating procedures and guidelines within the service area and actively contributes to the proposal of policy or service changes as appropriate.
· Works closely and collaboratively with the Head of Children’s Services, Service Managers and other Team Leaders across Children’s Services.
· Ensures that the agreed service specification is implemented.
· Ensures that service reports are completed in a timely manner and ensures that key performance indicators for specified services (Sherwood Park School Nursing and Children’s Continence Service) are met.
