We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Welder Fabricator who has the ability to read and interpret technical drawings with a high attention to detail.
Working as a Welder Fabricator you will join an established team working on multiple commercial projects, producing a variety of bespoke designed products including balustrades, staircases, ladders and modular frames from the manufacturing site in Batley.
As a Welder Fabricator you will be required to be actively involved in measuring, cutting, welding and assembly to precise specifications. Each project is crafted to meet the unique requirements of the client, allowing you a great opportunity to test your abilities as a skilled professional.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Welder Fabricator will include:
• Interpret engineering drawings: You'll need to accurately read and understand detailed fabrication and engineering drawings to ensure precise work
• Fabricate components to specification: This involves expertly measuring, cutting, drilling, and shaping various metals to the exact dimensions and specifications required for each project
• Apply MIG welding techniques: Utilise your proficiency in MIG / Metal Inert Gas welding to join components, ensuring strong and clean welds
• Operate workshop machinery: Confidently use a range of tools and machinery, including saws, grinders, and drills, to prepare and finish materials
• Conduct thorough quality checks: Perform meticulous inspections of your work to ensure it consistently meets all required specifications, quality standards, and industry benchmarks
• Collaborate effectively within a team: Work seamlessly with colleagues to maintain efficient workflow and collectively achieve production targets and deadlines
• Adhere to health and safety regulations: Always prioritise safety, working in a responsible manner and ensuring the well-being of yourself and your fellow team members
DESIRABLE
• Experience with sheet metal machinery (desirable): Familiarity with operating a guillotine for precise cutting and a bender for shaping sheet metal would be a distinct advantage
• Operate material handling equipment (desirable): Experience with a Forklift Truck (FLT) and Overhead Crane (OHC) would be beneficial for moving materials safely around the workshop
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Must have proven experience within steel fabrication
• Able to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
• Proficient in welding and metalwork techniques
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Relevant qualifications within fabrication/welding (NVQ, apprenticeship) highly desirable
