We have an exciting opportunity for Housing Apprentices to join our friendly team at Mid Devon District Council. As an apprentice, you’ll be working towards a Level 2 Housing and Property Management qualification whilst gaining hands on experience in the housing sector. You’ll be supported every step of the way by experienced professionals who will help you develop your skills and apply your learning in a real-world environment working across a wide range of different teams.

We have opportunities for up to four new Housing apprentices to start from September 2025.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Housing Apprentice, you’ll get stuck into a variety of tasks that help keep our housing service running smoothly. Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

• Being the first point of contact for our Housing service, helping to triage access and support
• Help tenants to understand their rights and responsibilities in line with tenancy agreements
• To assist with Housing case management and repairs and building maintenance coordination
• Supporting Housing Officers with administration tasks and service requests
• Updating databases and monitoring email inboxes

No two days will be the same, and you’ll never be short of opportunities to learn with great career opportunities across the housing sector.

What we are looking for:

You don’t need loads of experience, just a great attitude and a willingness to learn. We’re looking for someone who is:

• Organised and keen to get involved
• A good communicator and team player
• Comfortable using a computer (Word, email, etc.)
• Demonstrates commitment to customer care
• Interested in housing, community services or working in Local Government.
