Crynodeb

Research and External Engagement (REE) is a new integrated service dedicated to driving forward the University’s ambitions for, research, innovation, skills and enterprise. This professional service works to support our students, drive research excellence, upskill and reskill the regions workforce, strengthen relationships and engagement with our alumni, business and community partners.
Through cutting-edge research initiatives, hands-on learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, civic leadership, and skills delivery, we will empower individuals to thrive in an ever-changing world.

The role sits within the Engagement Team within REE. The team is a cross-cutting team that serves the whole of the service as well as the wider university. The team plays a pivotal role in building connections between UWE Bristol and our broader community, including alumni, businesses, and researchers. Our team is dedicated to promoting the university's work and building strong, mutually beneficial relationships that help drive innovation, collaboration, and community development.

The Research Centre and Groups Officer is responsible for supporting the College of Business and Law to promote their research through events and communications. The role is responsible for helping the College to put on a diverse range of research events throughout the year including conferences and seminars. The role is also responsible for creating communications for the Research Centres and Groups including social media content, writing blogs and email communications. The role involves working closely with our academics in the College of Business and Law to help tell the story of their research.

About you
We are looking for someone who is happy to work as part of a team but can also work independently. It’s important that you’re comfortable managing your own workload and can be proactive to find work when needed. You’ll feel comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and at times working to a deadline. Building relationships with our academics is going to be a crucial part of this role so we are looking for someone who is a confident networker.

We are looking for someone with varied comms experience, preferably in a large complex organisation. We’d also like someone who is comfortable producing content and assets for social media. You’ll need to be able to take complex research and simplify it for a mass audience.

Where is this role based?
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.

UWE Bristol recognises the power of a truly diverse university community.

As a Disability Confident employer, we welcome applications from those who identify as having a disability.
