My Life is currently looking for a kind, patient and reliable Support Worker / Personal Assistant to join our team in Bury. You’ll be supporting *Charlie, a friendly gentleman who loves the outdoors – especially fishing, which is one of his favourite pastimes.

Meet *Charlie
*Charlie enjoys a routine, being outdoors, and building trusting relationships with those around him. He’s looking for someone who can support him in a calm and respectful way – someone who will take the time to get to know him, understand his needs, and share in the things he enjoys (especially fishing).
About the Role:
As Support Worker / Personal Assistant, you will support a 33-year-old male with Autism who is supported by staff on a 2:1 basis during the day and 1:1 overnight. You’ll work closely with him and his support network, focusing on promoting his well-being, fostering skills, and enhancing his sense of community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Daily Living Support: Support *Charlie with daily activities.
• Community Adventures: Accompany *Charlie on outings – hiking and especially fishing, this is his greatest passion.
• Skill Building & Independence: Work alongside *Charlie to develop life skills that boost his confidence and self-sufficiency.
• Be a Friendly Confidant: Build a genuine connection with *Charlie, providing companionship, encouragement and positivity every day.
• Health & Well-being Monitoring: Look out for *Charlie’s safety, well-being, and overall happiness, always keeping communication open with his family and care team.
About You:
• Calm and Patient: You approach challenges with understanding and a steady mindset.
• Comfortable Outdoors: You’re happy to spend time outside, especially on fishing trips.
• Great Communication Skills: You connect well with *Charlie, his family, and the wider team, making sure everyone’s aligned.
• Experience or Keen to Learn: You have experience supporting people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and/or mental health needs, or eager to develop your skills.
• Driver’s License is Required: For taking *Charlie on outings and helping him stay engaged in the community.
