About this opportunity
Are you passionate about creating safe and enjoyable play spaces for communities? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Area Team Leader to lead our playground team across South Lakeland and Furness, whilst also supporting colleagues in Eden. As a Play Area Team Leader, you will carry out maintenance and repairs for play facilities, as well as carry out operational inspections, manage data using the Play Inspection App and provide technical, administrative, and operational support to ensure high service standards. This role will also have the opportunity to support with the implementation of playground projects across Westmorland and Furness, build strong community relationships, as well as assist with general duties as required across the wider team.
Who we are looking for…
We are seeking a motivated professional with experience in the play industry, particularly in practical maintenance and repair. You will have strong technical skills and the ability to work to precise specifications and a solid understanding of Play Industry standards and Health & Safety regulations. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, and can demonstrate proficiency in IT systems, attention to detail, and a proactive, positive attitude. A willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions. This is a supervisory role, requiring effective leadership and communication skills, as well as a commitment to upholding the Council’s values and Ways of Working. You’ll be expected to lead by example, promoting a positive working culture and ensuring service delivery meets high expectations.
