We have an exciting opportunity for a part time 16.5 hours, band 6 physiotherapist wishing to work in the specialist field of neurological rehabilitation within the community neuro rehab team in Brighton and Hove. You will be working within an established multidisciplinary team delivering highly skilled, interdisciplinary intervention to clients with neurological conditions including, stroke, acquired brain injury, Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions. Our team aims to provide a client focused, holistic service by supporting and guiding our clients to successfully manage their neurological conditions to maximise their independence and opportunities within their homes, workplaces, family circles and community networks.

We provide a needs-based service to those who have recently been discharged from the acute stroke wards and an on-going rehabilitation service to other conditions requiring multi-disciplinary neurological rehabilitation. Our service provides input in patient homes and care homes. We work closely with our key partners within the acute setting and community based groups, which enables a seamless pathway for our client’s care.

Our service operates over 5 days during the working week and a service for early supported discharge on a Saturday. This is staffed through a rota for the band 6 and 7s.

In this role, you will be a dynamic member of the physiotherapy team and wider multi-disciplinary team to provide specialised neurological rehabilitation for our clients. You will be supported to develop specialised skills in the field of community neuro rehabilitation through regular supervision and annual appraisals. You will have opportunities to work closely alongside other disciplines within the multi-disciplinary team and work in an inter-disciplinary context to create a holistic and client based focus to your intervention and care.

CNRT is committed to staff training and student provision and you will have opportunities to attend and contribute to these programmes; these are linked closely to competences and learning needs to ensure that your skills are developing through evidenced based practice. There are also opportunities to attend internal and external courses to support your identified learning needs, areas of interest and aspirations.

There will be opportunities to develop non-clinical and leadership skills through supporting your B7 therapy lead and providing supervision to band 3-5 rehab assistants, rotational B5 physiotherapists and students. There are also opportunities to contribute to service development projects within the team covering well-being, job planning, demand and capacity, client feedback and working with key partners.
