We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Social Care Simulation and Skills Assistant to join our college community as they support across all our study programmes in Health, Education and Care. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring, innovative and team-focussed individual with a real desire to create maximum impact and will likely be an experienced Healthcare Assistant or Nurse Associate who would like the opportunity to develop the next generation of health and care practitioners.
Our new Simulation and Skills Assistant will split their time between ensuring our resources are organised and prepared for lessons, and supporting learning by assisting in class and taking small groups to run practical learning sessions and workshops and supervising independent learning. Duties at both our College Green and SBSA campuses may include:
Preparing and organising practical learning resources and spaces for learning.
Oversight of inventory, purchasing and maintenance schedules liaising with IT, Facilities and external suppliers.
In-class support for lecturing staff - helping with practical learning sessions, skills and scenario-based learning.
Delivering skills workshops and practice sessions for T Level Health and other learners.
Supporting learners to be ready for placement and other industry related enrichment and trips/speakers.
Supervising independent learning.
A desire to help support our First Aid and Moving and Handling training will also be welcomed.

The Simulation and Skills Assistant for Health, Education and Care is a new role in the department and the successful candidate will develop this role to support programmes from Level 1 up to degree level.
Working with the department Programme Managers and Lecturers, you will contribute to the quality of curriculum provision and learner experience. You will build relationships with those in the department and colleagues in the wider college community, as well as external stakeholders including our HE providers and employer partners.
