Our role
We have a fantastic opportunity for experienced Distibution Overhead Line Workers to join our distribution team in the Walkden and Blackburn areas.
The team are responsible for carrying out the maintenance, repair and refurbishment activities on our distribution woodpole overhead lines up to and including 33kV so that our customers can enjoy a reliable and efficient electricity supply.

Knowledge and skills:
• Are qualified to NVQ or City & Guilds level 2 or equivalent;
• Hold a current HV/LV/Limited Authorisation for overhead line work on the SP Electricity North West network or other DNO.
• Have proven experience working at height;
• Are proficient in the use of overhead line equipment, winches, MEWPs, tracked excavators, cranes etc.;
• Are qualified to carry out pole top rescue;
• Have extensive knowledge of the safety requirements for working on and around overhead power lines;
• Have experience of leading and/or being a member of a working party under a safety document;
• Are familiar with working in accordance with Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, processes and procedures;
• Hold a full, valid UK driving licence (essential) with a HGV licence (Highly desirable);
• Are experienced in off road driving;
• Are customer focused with the ability to communicate with both internal and external customers (essential);
• Can demonstrate the ability to complete paperwork relating to work based activities (essential);
• Have a working knowledge of computers and mobile devices (desirable).
Upskilling training will be offered to the right candidate.
