Main Duties
-Supervising the grounds maintenance team and providing instrumental support, as well as overseeing all winter maintenance operations.
-Main duties for this role include supervising a team of grounds maintenances operatives to the highest level, effectively planning work to ensure efficient use of labour, materials and equipment. You will oversee the maintenance team and ensure you lead by example to implement a positive health and safety culture.
- Ensure all outdoor spaces are maintained to a high standard, including lawns, gardens, pathways, and hardscaping.
-Conduct mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, and general landscaping tasks as required.
-Oversee seasonal duties such as snow clearance and gritting during adverse weather conditions.
-Lead and manage a team of grounds maintenance operatives, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
-Assign work schedules and provide oversight to ensure high-quality results.
-Conduct risk assessments and ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
-Monitor the use of tools and equipment to prevent accidents, enforcing best practices at all times.
-Address any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
Person Specification
-Proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping with strong knowledge of best practices.
-Competent in using grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, strimmers, and similar machinery.
-Understanding of health and safety regulations with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
-Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating a team.
-Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
-Good communication skills for engaging with clients, stakeholders, and team members in a professional manner.
-Full UK driving licence (if vehicle operation is required).
-Relevant qualifications or certifications in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or health and safety are desirable but not essential

-Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
-Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
-Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
-Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

-Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
-Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
-Report actual and suspected security incidents;
