Contract: Part-time, fixed term until 31st October 2026
Hours: 28 hours per week. Flexibility in working pattern, in agreement with line manager
Based: Windsor Great Park Environmental Centre.
The Learning Officer will help nature recover by enabling people to connect to, and act for, nature. You’ll be part of an energetic and highly committed team of environmental educators working across a number of sites. Through a varied range of programmes, you will use your skills to raise understanding, awareness and love of wildlife in children and adults.
What you’ll be doing
• Planning and delivering day-long, outdoor, curriculum-focused sessions for Early Years and Primary-aged children
• Planning and delivering sessions for toddlers, young people and family events and trails, including in the school holidays and some weekend working
• Supporting the continued upkeep & development of the Centre’s building, facilities and resource and effective collaboration between the Crown Estate and BBOWT
• Administration of the learning programmes
• Cross-team liaison, within BBOWT and between BBOWT and the Crown Estate
• Supporting the upkeep & development of the Centre’s building, facilities and resources
• Managing volunteers

What we’re looking for
• An in-depth understanding of appropriate learning and communication styles in order to work effectively with people from different age groups and backgrounds, particularly primary-aged children
• Skills and knowledge to plan and deliver environmental education activities for Early Years, Primary and Secondary-aged children
• The ability to work independently and with a range of people, from all backgrounds
• Strong organisational skills
• Willingness to work weekends (initially up to 2 weekend days a month)
• Ability to lead volunteers
