Paralegal (Part-time) – £20,880 per annum (FTE £28,107) – North Kensington (hybrid)
Hours: 26 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (hybrid)
Contract: 12-month fixed term (job share considered)

At Westway Trust, we’re proud to work with our local community to help North Kensington thrive. We are seeking a committed part-time Paralegal to support the delivery of our Cost-of-Living Crisis Clinic, providing essential advice and assistance to people during challenging times.

Reporting to the Clinic Supervisor, you will coordinate and help deliver our twice-weekly Cost of Living Crisis Clinics in Old Street and Ladbroke Grove. You’ll manage a small caseload, supervise volunteers, and ensure efficient, high-quality service for clients.

You will be a confident communicator who will have the right blend and balance of strong administration, coordination and delivery skills, with excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills, and legal knowledge, and will be committed to supporting and enhancing the lives of people in the local community as this role is central to Westway Trust’s commitment to deliver activities and events to the benefit of the North Kensington community.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

Manage a small caseload of welfare benefits and housing cases
Provide advice and representation on disability benefit appeals (full training provided)
Act as the first point of contact for clients and referral agencies
Coordinate clinic operations, including booking appointments and supervising volunteers
Assist clients in completing online and paper applications for benefits, grants, and housing
Maintain accurate records and run case management statistics using AdvicePro
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
Support outreach work at St Luke’s Community Centre

The Person

Law degree or currently studying law (or equivalent)
Experience in providing legal advice or casework
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse groups
Confident using IT systems and databases
Interest in civil law and supporting local communities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Connections to/understanding of North Kensington or the surrounding area is highly desirable.
