Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Chef/Chef de Partie with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our organisation and work at one of our prestigious educational establishments. This role is critical to our operations and requires a high level of professionalism and expertise.

As a Chef/Chef de Partie, you will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for our young people, adhering to strict dietary guidelines and food safety standards.
  2. Demonstrate exceptional culinary skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  3. Maintain impeccable organisational skills to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  4. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and other departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
  5. Exhibit a profound commitment to food quality and customer satisfaction.
  6. Adhere to and enforce all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
  7. Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating current food trends while meeting nutritional requirements.
  8. Manage time effectively to meet all meal service deadlines.
  9. Work collaboratively within a team of experienced professionals.
  10. Adapt to the specific requirements of a boarding school environment, including working one evening per week until 19:00 and occasional Saturdays.
  11. Maintain a valid driver's licence and have access to personal car, as this is essential for the school is situated.

This position operates during term time only and requires a high level of dedication and professionalism to meet the standards expected in our prestigious educational setting.

  1. Substantial experience in educational catering, demonstrating a proven track record of excellence in this specialised field.
  2. A progressive and distinguished career trajectory in the culinary arts, showcasing continuous professional growth and achievement.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of current food trends, with the ability to incorporate these into nutritionally balanced and appealing menus.
  4. Demonstrable passion for food preparation and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  5. Thorough understanding and practical application of Health & Safety regulations within a professional kitchen environment.
  6. Proficiency in implementing and adhering to in-house Food Management Systems, ensuring consistent quality and operational efficiency.
  7. Expertise in managing strict allergy protocols, with a keen attention to detail in ingredient management and cross-contamination prevention.
  8. Superior time management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and execute multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
