Summary


This 0.4wte (15 hours per week) position is an exciting opportunity for a Neonatal Dietitian to work on the Neonatal Units at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

This is a job share opportunity, sharing a 1wte post with an established 0.6wte band 7 Specialist Dietitian in Neonates. Working alongside and supported by an experienced Clinical Lead Specialist Dietitian in Neonates, the post holder will contribute to the provision of an effective, safe and highly specialist neonatal dietetic service to Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital (Level 3) and St Mary’s Hospital (Level 2).

The post holder will have knowledge and experience within this specialist area and there will be opportunities to learn and develop skills once in post.

The post holder will contribute to the dietetic provision for the Neonatal Service, which includes inpatient and outpatient clinical work across both of the Trust's Neonatal Units, delivering teaching and carrying out audit/quality improvement. Neonatal Therapy provision, including dietetics, is embedded in Neonatal Service delivery, requiring strengths in collaboration, communication and team working.

Anticipated start date: 01/12/2025
• You will work autonomously to provide expert nutritional and dietetic advice to an independent caseload of inpatients.
You will develop individual baby centred treatment plans based on nutritional diagnosis including interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical condition, growth, medication, family and social history and diet history where appropriate.
• You will calculate nutritional requirements and assess nutritional status using anthropometric skills, calculations and clinical observation and advise on the most appropriate and safe method of nutritional support including enteral and parenteral nutrition.
• You will attend and contribute to neonatal ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings advising on the nutritional management of individual babies based on interpretation of the necessary parameters.
• You will work with colleagues to develop and maintain evidence based neonatal nutrition protocols and policies to be implemented at neonatal and Trust level.
• You will participate in and contribute to the Integrated Family Delivered Care (IFDC) project and carry out nutrition education of staff, patients/carers and students, designing, delivering and evaluating training
