The acute inpatient wards are split across two sites. Becklin Centre is made up of 4 acute wards (2 male and 2 female), along with a Crisis Assessment Unit. Newsam centre also has a male acute ward and a PICU. We are recruiting for Staff Nurses for: - Ward 1 Becklin (Female Acute) - Ward 5 Becklin (Female Acute) - Ward 4 Newsam (Male Acute) Please indicate your preference to location and service user group in your application. As a Mental Health Staff Nurse on our acute inpatient units, your main duties and responsibilities will include: Patient Care: Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises. Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and respond to any changes in their condition. Work shifts across the full 24 hour period. Care Planning: Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care plans in collaboration with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring all documentation meets legal and regulatory standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care. Participate in team meetings and case conferences. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to all health and safety regulations and protocols. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health nursing. This role requires strong clinical skills, empathy, excellent communication, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
