The City Inspector (Band 3) - Mid Rate position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a passion for maintaining safety and compliance within our urban environment. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of buildings, construction sites, and public spaces to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Identify and report violations of building codes, zoning laws, and safety standards.
Review plans and specifications for construction projects to ensure adherence to regulations.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and document findings clearly and concisely.
Communicate effectively with contractors, business owners, and the public regarding compliance standards and required actions.
Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that violations have been addressed and resolved appropriately.
Participate in training and development activities to stay updated on changes to regulations and codes.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or associate degree preferred.
Proven experience in inspection, construction, or a related field is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance and identify potential hazards.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to various inspection sites.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £24.80
Location: Westminster, South West London
