Millions of people in the UK live with chronic pain, a burden that affects every part of their lives. Yet the journey to access the care they need can take years. Pastel Health is here to change that; we offer compassionate, multidisciplinary care that helps patients get their lives back on track.
Our mission is to transform the lives of people living with chronic pain whilst making clinical work more fulfilling. This commitment is at the heart of everything we do.
We are a start-up, building as we go. This can mean embracing ambiguity, working at pace, and adapting quickly. The journey ahead will be exciting, rewarding, and rich with opportunities for you to make an impact and progress professionally. This will excite you, as it does us.
About the role
We are seeking passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists to join our new consultant-led multidisciplinary Chronic Pain service. This is a rare opportunity to help contribute an innovative, psychologically informed service focused on transforming the lives of people living with persistent pain.
As an early team member, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and contribute to developing clinical pathways, patient education, and group interventions. You’ll work alongside a consultant in chronic pain, psychologists, physiotherapists and other MDT colleagues to provide holistic, integrated care.
This role is primarily located in Gloucester, but there will be opportunities to work remotely. You will report to the Lead Consultant and work closely with the Clinical Director and Executive Chair.
We are open to discussing alternative working models while ensuring stable, rewarding roles. We offer a flexible sessional model for clinicians who prefer autonomy while contributing to our mission-driven service. This model offers competitive rates, flexibility to fit around your other commitments, and ensures you stay connected with a supportive MDT.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver in-person and remote assessments, follow-ups and interventions for patients with chronic pain
- Deliver parts of our multidisciplinary group pain management programmes
- Support the setup and smooth running of interventional pain clinics
- Contribute to pathway development, webinars, and patient-facing content
- Collaborate with colleagues across the health system to ensure joined-up care
- Participate in service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
- Significant experience as a nurse specialist in chronic pain or long-term conditions
- Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse with the NMC
- Experience working in psychologically informed models of care (e.g. ACT, CBT)
- Strong MDT working experience and group facilitation skills
- Ability to work from our clinic site in Gloucester
Desirable:
- Postgraduate training in pain management (Masters-level modules or equivalent)
- Familiarity with digital tools and remote care delivery
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel between sites
Additional Requirements
All candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks, including Right to Work and Enhanced DBS check.
